What each cabinet is for

A ReadyLinks network mixes media by building, not by preference: fiber where there is fiber, Ethernet where there is structured cabling, and ReadyLink over whatever coax or telephone pair is already in the walls.

Ethernet

EX-48 and EX-24 for closets with structured cabling: 10G to every port, 802.3bt power for Wi-Fi 7 and cameras, 25G and 40G uplinks. The fanless GL-24xEP+ takes the edge.

Fiber

The core and the risers. CX-48 at the core with 25G ports and 100G uplinks, stacking to eight units; AX-24 for aggregation with 10G and 25G down and 40G up.

Coax

ReadyLink over the coax in the wall. F-connector head-ends (GL-12xC, GL-6xC) serve up to 16 in-room clients per port; BNC head-ends (GL-24xB, GL-12xB) give each legacy camera run its own 1.8 Gbps port with power.

Twisted pair

ReadyLink over telephone pair. The GL-24xT takes 24 pairs, point-to-point, 1.8 Gbps to each client with PoE at the far end, in 520 W and 240 W builds.
